Katie and Aunt Dee Visit New York City

We LOVE having visitors!  For Katie's Spring Break she decided to come and visit us in the city and Aunt Dee got to come along as well.  We had the BEST time!  The kids loved having two aunts around...Avery was picked up and held whenever she wanted to be, Carly got them to do things for her that she can do by herself but would much rather have it done for her, Blake loved showing them around the city and telling them stories.

Avery got passed from mom to aunt to aunt in church and when she made it to Aunt Dee she broke out the kisses.  Carly asked Aunt Dee to put her socks on for her, after that she got Katie to do her shoes, when I came through I said "Carly you can do your own shoes", she laughed and said "I could have done my socks too".  Blake impressed Katie and Aunt Dee with his ability to remember all the subway stops and what landmarks they stopped at.

It was such a fun 4 days and a special time with the two of them on our own.  We visited several places and decided we better write it all down so we could remember.  We had spectacular weather which made going to several places that much easier.  Here is what we did each day:

Saturday:

Lunch at Soup Burg on the Upper East Side

Central Park, Belvedere Castle, turtle pond, LOTS of steps and hills, ha!

Museum of Natural History (walked by)

Subway to Rockefeller Center

Radio City Music Hall

NBC Studios, Today Show

Rockefeller Center, ice skaters, where the Christmas Tree is

30 Rock Center, stopped for a snack and watched the ice skaters from the basement

American Girl Store

St. Patricks Cathedral

Subway Home

Dinner ordered in from our favorite Pizza place

 Then they had to go home...and we hated to see them go, especially Carly who stood crying on the sidewalk.    Poor thing!  She is really anxious to be home near family...as we all are!
