To celebrate, 2nd Graders at PS6 have Dutch Day. All the students dress up in clothing representative of the time and most of the day school is conducted the same way it was in the 1600s. Blake was to also bring a piece of fire wood (construction paper) to school since they don't have electricity.
Dressing up took some convincing on my part but this day is taken very seriously and they talk a lot about it at school leading up to the event. So eventually Blake came around to the idea. As we walked to school this morning he was really worried people we passed in the street would think he was just dressed funny. I offered to tell everyone we passed that it was Dutch Day...he declined my offer. ha!
