Memorial to 9-11

On Thanksgiving Eve we visited the 9-11 memorial.  We had to make reservations even though it is free to visit. It is under high security so they track everyone.  We even had to go through airport type security before entering.  It is a beautiful tribute, a must-see if you come to New York.
Here we are waiting on the subway.  Blair would sing "All aboard the choo choo train, All aboard the choo choo train".

I couldn't take any pictures until we were inside the memorial.  Here is a map of how its set up.  Parts are still under construction which is another reason for needing reservations, they control the number of people inside.
Looking at the names and fountains.

The names light up a bit at night, its really pretty.

One of the new buildings close to being completed.

The kids were still up for more so we headed a few blocks over and took a ferry ride on the Staten Island Ferry to end the night.  They were starting to hit a wall as you can tell from this picture.  We figured out pretty fast that to keep them going, we just need to feed them.  So after the first stop on the ferry we got ice cream and sodas before getting back on to ride it back to Manhattan.
