On Saturday we were invited to a beach house in New Jersey for beach time and a BBQ. Rodney sings in the choir at church and one of the families has a place in Spring Lake NJ. So she invited the entire choir and their families out for the day. Since we don't have a car we took the train out which took about 2 hours. We left after Blake's baseball game and arrived in NJ at about 12:30.
The big kids did great on the train...Ms Avery took some work. We played A LOT with the camera and passed her back and forth several times.
The kids LOVED the beach. We weren't sure what Avery would think....but she wasn't scared at all. In fact, I got her dressed and she took off running to the water. We will definitely need a short leash on her this summer. There were several kids there and our kids jumped right in building a sand castle and digging in the sand.
Carly stayed busy catching sea crabs and looking for shells
After the beach we showered back at the house in a beautiful outdoor shower that has made my "I wish" list. Avery loved pushing this car around in the back yard.
They have this very cool bike that the kids got to take a ride on.
The big girls were my babysitters for Avery and played with her in the yard nearly the whole time.
A picture of the entire choir and families. It is a really fun group. It is nice to have friends outside of the hospital.
The babysitters with the babies on the swing.
Waiting at the train station for the next train. They were SOOO tired. Carly slept on the seat on the train all the way home.
It was a really fun day trip that we are glad we took. It wasn't terribly relaxing for Rodney and I since we were watching 3 kids but they had a blast which makes us happy. We enjoyed spending time with the other families and letting the kids play.
