The New York Aquarium and a Chocolate supper!

After church last weekend we decided to take the train to Coney Island and visit the New York Aquarium.  It is included in our zoo pass so we wanted to check it out.  We started by grabbing breakfast on our way to the train.  The restaurant was crazy busy so we sat two and two like this with Avery stroller pulled up next to me.  The kids liked this arrangement and apparently had our full attention because they proceeded to talk non stop to each of us the entire time.  If I even looked away for a minute, Blake would say, "mom are you listening to me?".
The train ride was long but we finally made it.

One of the guys Rodney works with said we should take the kids to a neat restaurant in Union Square called Max Brenner's.  So we had made reservations and headed there after the aquarium.  It was a dream restaurant for me because they are famous for their chocolate.
I took a few pictures while we were waiting for our reservation time.  Blake had his eye on this dessert pizza.
That's right, chocolate in a syringe!
The meal was SOOO good and we planned to let the kids choose a dessert as well.  Well we were waiting to order dessert and Rodney took the last drink of his diet coke and in the bottom of the glass was a dead bug.!  ugh!  He showed our waiter and the manager came over right away and went on and on about how sorry she was.  We had noticed in the window that their healthcode rating was an A (all NYC restaurants have to display this).  She insisted on paying for our entire meal, desserts included.  After she left the table, Rodney said "this is the best for you, you get a free meal and the bug wasn't in your glass".  ha!  He was right, I wouldn't have been able to continue our meal after that.  Not Rodney though, he picked up the dessert menu and ordered away!
Blake got a chocolate crepe with marshmallow sauce.
I got the chocolate lava cake.  Oh my was it good!
Carly got plain vanilla ice cream...she did like it even though her face doesn't say so in this picture.
Rodney got a caramel shake but I didn't take a picture of it.  The bug in the glass won't deter us from making a return trip sometime. Their food was amazing good and the desserts were over the top.
