Moving!

Preparing for the move to NYC was very stressful for me.  Rodney and the kids seemed to handle it so much better than I did.  I was way out of my element because it was so hard to stick to my plan with 3 kiddos running around.
Avery spent a lot of time under her Jungle playmat.
Carly got to dress herself many mornings which she delighted in...her mama struggled with giving up control over that but I had bigger things to tackle.
Blake was always willing to chip in when needed which was so helpful to me. This was one of his favorite jobs.  Probably because he still got to watch cartoons.

Our move was split into thirds.  The first third went to storage in Indiana.  We packed this ourselves, loaded the moving truck and drove it to IN over Memorial weekend.  Thankfully Tash, Sarah and Mr. P came down to have a packing party for three days.  They were a huge help!  The kids were so excited about the empty truck.

 And so was Rodney....
The second third was loaded by movers onto a truck and then sent to storage until we are ready for it to be delivered to NYC.  I loved using movers and hope to never have to move myself again!
The last third was packed into suitcases and we took it to the local Homewood Suites where we will stay for 17 nights.  The kids LOVE the pool, I love the housekeeping, breakfast and dinner on Monday-Thursday nights, and Rodney loves the free beer.  Really, if we had just a bit more space we could live here.  That staff have been super sweet to us.  The kids were given books that the gal in charge of breakfast purchased for them.  Ms Carolyn pulls back a brown sugar and cinnamon pop tart for Carly every morning since that is the only flavor she likes.  Ms Renee held a fussy Avery at dinner one night so we could eat in peace...WONDERFUL!  And Mr. Chris is always saving treats or extras for the kids at dinner time...like tonight the menu was chicken strips but he thought they would rather have nuggets so he made a few up for them.

Here they are all cuddled up before bed one night.  Carly thought the king sized bed was for the kids to sleep in.  Rodney and I quickly showed them how the couch unfolded into their bed.  Thankfully they were thrilled! Avery sleeps in the pack n play in the corner of our bedroom.
We spent most of Father's Day in the pool.  The kids are taking swim lessons this summer so we do lots of practicing in the pool at the hotel each day.
Avery has enjoyed a few pool side naps in her SPF 50 tent.  She also got in the water a bit with us too.  She wasn't sure at first but then started kicking her legs and splashing around.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention fresh baked cookies each day too....here is Carly enjoying her snack break.
 Post pool time....
We are in the hotel for one more week before the kids and I drive to Indiana to spend July with our families.  Rodney will join us there after he takes the boards on July 7th.
